This next week I’ll be visiting two, third grade classes at Park Day School. As they are studying birds, I will be sharing my book, Backyard Birds, as well as talking about my writing journey. These third graders produce an amazing email magazine which is sent to parents and interested parties. It is heartening to see so many young, good writers.
I have a new post on Marilyn Meredith’s blog about the changes that have taken place in children’s book over the past years. Find out if Nancy Drew has disappeared or whether she is just emerged into some other guise. http://marilynmeredith.blogspot.com
On Saturday, February 8, I’ll be teaching school-aged children how to make a Valentine book, which is a perfect Valentine present or card for loved ones. The class is from 2 to 3 at Studios on the Park, 1130 Pine Street, Paso Robles. There is a $5 material’s fee and students are asked to pre-register at 805-238-9800.
On February 10, I’ll be at Hawthorne School in San Luis Obispo visiting with a first grade class and a fourth grade Book Club. I’ll talk about my writing process and share some of my books with the students. Of course, there will be plenty of opportunity for questions.
